CWE: Creative Reflection Approach
About:
CWE: Creative Reflection Approach is a unique, holistic & innovative approach to supporting staff within busy, highly emotional and stress-filled sectors.
The concept originally came from Ray Kathryn Radnell, a Neurodivergent systemic artist, researcher and Social worker. Whilst training and working within Children’s Services, they encountered and witnessed numerous barriers to progression, non-conducive processes / procedures and regularly saw amazing and talented workers leaving the profession through oppression and burnout.
Ray’s experience in various sectors, training and mentoring along with skills in observation, pattern recognition and analysis led to them realising that retaining quality social workers who were good and passionate about their role was proving difficult within statutory local authority services. Dealing with high caseloads, complex cases, personal risk, minimal supervision / support & no clinical supervision. The short-term recruitment and organisational needs being filled by expensive agency staff. All this impacting workers, the organisation (cost, stats) and ultimately the children & families.
By bringing relational practice into the work environment, providing an approach which creates cohesion within practice and theory, Creative Work Ecology meets individual need and organisation goals whilst promoting a positive work culture, empowerment, equity & inclusivity.
